Planning an Elopement in Perth?
Elopements have come a long way from courthouse ceremonies. Today, many couples are choosing smaller, more intentional celebrations that focus on the experience rather than the expectations.
As a Perth wedding photographer, I’ve photographed everything from simple registry-style ceremonies to sunset celebrations on the coast followed by dinner with a handful of family and friends. What they all have in common is that they feel personal, relaxed, and true to the couple.
One of the best things about eloping in Perth is the variety of locations available. Whether you’re drawn to the ocean, gardens, heritage buildings, vineyards, or the city skyline, there are plenty of beautiful places and smaller wedding venues to create a meaningful day without the scale of a traditional wedding.

For gardens and greenery
- Harold Boas Gardens

- Queens Gardens
- Claisebrook Cove
For river views
- Matilda Bay Foreshore

Where to Celebrate Afterwards
One of my favourite elopement formats is a short ceremony followed by a long lunch or intimate dinner with your closest people. Perth has plenty of restaurants, bars, and private dining spaces that work beautifully for smaller celebrations.
