Young Love Queenstown ft. Grace Loves Lace

Inspired by the gorgeous New Zealand countryside, ‘Young Love Lives Longer’ is a styled shoot about a gorgeous young couple who elope out on a station farm in the middle of nowhere by their local town in the South Island of New Zealand with just immediate family attending.

I travelled to Queenstown, NZ in August to photograph a winter wedding and new I had to fit in a styled shoot the following day. I shoot quite a bit now in the beautiful South Island and being a wanderlust soul I absolutely love the scenery, everywhere you look is a picture waiting to be captured.

I get a lot of inspiration from music and I’ve had the vision of ‘Cool Nights’ by Paul Davis playing in my head so when I saw the fireplace and stone lodge at Mt Nicholas Station I knew it was perfect. I love elopements and intimate weddings at exotic locations so Mt Nic, a remote working cattle farm was the perfect fit.

We caught a ferry out to the station for the afternoon and captured the love between these two youngsters. Adorned in the new Grace Loves Lace ‘BLANC’ Collection the bride wore the Gigi bodysuit for her morning boudoir shots which I love asking brides if they would like to do. After this she changed into the SOHO number (my personal favourite of the collection) paired with the gorgeous long feminine Henri Veil. UnReal Fur sent us this incredibly soft and warm ‘Wanderlust’ coat which kept the model cosy even though it was freezing!

Whilst searching for vendors to collaborate I found while there may not be many in QTN there are some absolute freakin’ gems. Stacey from Colour Me Happy Weddings is one of my favourite NZ stylists so I couldn’t wait to work with her. She is such a cool chick and such a trooper dealing with our time constraints catching the one and only ferry back carrying heavy things whilst being preggo! Stacey also styled the yum semi naked red velvet cake with chocolate drip using flowers and blue berries from Gypsy at The Vase Florist who created some beautiful rich blooms for us.
