“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift––that is why it is called the present.”
How did you two meet/ fall in love?
At a club cricket game on Australia Day 2013 was the first time we laid eyes on each other. A few weeks later at another game was the first time we spoke and the rest is history! It truly was love at first sight!
What main piece of advice would you give a newly engaged bride/ couple going through the wedding planning process?
Be happy with the choices you make and don’t keep looking for too much inspiration when you have decided on things. There are endless options out there and to be honest no one will remember what you didn’t choose (nor will they probably remember the things you did spend hours choosing). Stay true to what a wedding is really about!
What made you choose to trust me to capture this special day/ time?
I have followed you on Instagram for years for your beautiful photography. It wasn’t because I knew someone who had used you before it was all in the beautiful photographs that I loved! Your natural photos really capture your couples personalities in a beautiful way and we couldn’t be happier with our choice to have you capture our special day!
The blog posts on your wedding planning blog were so handy!
I felt like I didn’t forget anything because I had already read about it in your blog and made sure those things were in place! Changing the name after wedding is a huge help!
I think Wedding photos are something truly special that should be kept in a special way so we decided to get an album in our collection to do just this.
What were your favourite memories of the wedding day?
The whole entire day was amazing! I loved spending the afternoon with my husband before we actually got married. I felt so at ease walking down the aisle and he was honestly the only person I could look at! Spending time with my beautiful Nan and Grandad are memories none of us will ever forget!
Monica and Dylan’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of not only their love, but their love for Family and Monica’s darling Nan who got given the heartbreaking news that she has cancer and not sure how much time she had. They moved their wedding date forward a year and planned it all in just a few months to ensure they could share it with this beautiful lady. It was one of my favourite weddings and really showed what love is all about.
It made me realise how materialised weddings can be these days and we can forget the real reason behind throwing one. Being in the wedding industry it’s hard juggling the love for epic styling and floral installations with remembering the reason behind the wedding. We were super lucky getting married 6 months after getting engaged and getting to have two weddings to celebrate with both sides of the family. These are the moments you will remember forever, long after what colour flowers you had.
Family is one of life’s biggest gifts and sometimes you don’t realise this until you’re faced with the possibility of losing someone close to you.
We don’t own the right to wake up tomorrow, that story has already been written for us so the best we can do is hold each other close and live for today.
At a time of your life that is supposed to be one of the happiest, we forget that life isn’t a guarantee and a right, but a gift, and moments like this day I had the pleasure of spending with this family really ring this home.
