So, you’re engaged, CONGRATULATIONS!

First on the list is most likely going to be finding the perfect wedding venue where you will celebrate one of the best days of your life. Some popular venues book up far in advance so try lock down that date as soon as you can.

I have sectioned them into subheadings of In The City, On The Coast, In The Vallery.

HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE

Before searching Google for wedding venues in Perth ask yourself a few questions…

Where do we love to hang out?

Are you beach people? Bush hikers? Urban coffee shop lovers? Classy inner-city dwellers? Happy Glampers?

How many people do we need want to invite?

Quality over quantity

Is BYO a better option?

Or too stressful? I recommend a stylist if so!

Cocktail or Sit Down Reception?

Cocktail encourages mingling, oldies might like to sit down.

Is it easier to have both the ceremony and reception at the same venue?

(Insert yes here)

What time of year will it be?

Ie. don’t pick Barrett Lane after winter when it’s been all cutback and there are no blooms.

Or Lamont’s during Fringe Festival. Or an outdoor only venue in the middle of winter.

What will the weather likely do on the day? 

Outdoors weddings under the stars are the best! Have a backup clear marquee on standby if unsure.

Will this venue still be cool our favourite pick in a year’s time?

How will it look in photos? If is dark indoors, is this best for natural light? (Insert NO here)

Will Down South be hard to get to or will it be more secluded and personal?

I’d highly recommend hiring a stylist.

 LAMONT’S BISHOPS HOUSE

One of my favourite city wedding venues, Lamont’s Bishops House is simply stunning to photograph at and creates the most amazing atmosphere for weddings with a few different space options to choose from. The best summer venue for a cocktail long table dinner out in the back Rose Garden and grassed D-Floor or the clear marquee out the back is perfect for weddings flowing from a ceremony out on the lawn with high rises in the background.

ST GEORGES COLLEGE

One of the most picturesque venues in Perth, such a beautiful blank canvas, do as little or and much as you like to create a magical garden wonderland!

PERTH CITY FARM (BYO)

For anyone up for the challenge, you can transform this Farmer’s Market into a pretty sweet little venue – especially if like us you just want it all outdoors cocktail style adorned with festoon lighting with a food truck cranking out some epic Mexican food. 

With 3 separate areas two being indoors it is great for all year round. 

 Tips: I got married here myself so can give you all the ins n’ outs of their ‘3 day hire’ DIY/BYO package.

I also hire out a white drape to cover the graffiti walls if you want a blank canvas of the gardens. 

MOANA HALL

Opening in a few months time, Perth’s newest Wedding venue Moana Hall will transform you out of Perth into feeling like you’re in Europe.

Moana Hall ticks all the boxes with its European blank canvas feel. Those white arch windows, wooden floorboards which are currently being restored and new bars being installed in the next couple of months all make it my favourite new venue already!

Being indoors you can have your wedding here all year round and it’s big enough to have both your wedding ceremony and reception all at the same spot.

MOUNTS BAY SAILING CLUB

Perfect for a summer soiree marquee wedding.

STATE BUILDINGS PERTH

Get hitched either in the hall or on the lawns of Cathedral Square then drop the bridal party off for a drink at Petition bar whilst you two go for some photos around Como The Treasury, then options for dinner past the neon lights, Thai goodness and colourful courtyard of Long Chim, or upstairs at Post/ Print Hall. 

 

FRIDAYS STUDIOS

New York-style Industrial Warehouse in Leederville, dark and moody vibes.

Great for Winter or a Mid Day ceremony.

I love Site 4 along the foreshore as it’s less busy and a blank canvas to do what you wish. Tipi + Co can create a fun mini wed-fest for you.

One of my all time favourite venues to photograph at – and the food is so unique!

Love the colour Teal as much as I do? Perfect for small intimate weddings Guildhall Event Space accommodates up to 54 people sit-down as a squeeze or 120 cocktail style.

With limestone walls, exposed beams and awesome sunset deck overlooking Bather’s Beach Kidogo is about as close to the epic Perth beach wedding experience as you’ll get. With the option of having an indoor or outdoor wedding – just beware of the heat inside the arthouse (no airflow) and the wind outdoors 🙂

THE QUARRY AMPHITHEATRE

Nestled in the picturesque surrounds of Bold Park, The Quarry’s Limestone walls & unique lawn terraces are perfect for both ceremonies & receptions in a clear marquee or open air.

 

COTTESLOE CIVIC CENTRE

Such beautiful manicured lawns and Italian feel.

I’ve heard they are very strict and you must hire furniture from them.

The Main Lawn Stage & the Secret Garden are both beautiful.

The Secret Garden (also know as Playground 2) is a smaller lawn area nestled into the lower leafy section of the grounds. BARRETT LANE (BYO)

 Located in the picturesque Swan Valley with balcony views of undulating vineyards, Barrett Lane provides an atmosphere of privacy and exclusivity with two areas at your disposal: a fully equipped and air-conditioned function room and a lawn area perfect for cocktails, surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens.

 Barrett Lane can comfortably accommodate up to 130 cocktail guests or 80 seated. Free parking is available on-site. The venue is BYO, hugely reducing the cost of your event. The outside lawn area, adjacent to the function room, is the perfect setting for your wedding ceremony or evening drinks before dinner

 

DARLINGTON ESTATE WINERY

Cosy venue out in the hills – more suited to Winter in my opinion, very rustic feel but get someone like The Bohemian Flower Collective to transform it into a winter log cabin!
