20 OF PERTH’S BEST WEDDING RECEPTION VENUES
by Perth wedding photographer, Kate Drennan Photography
So, you’re engaged, CONGRATULATIONS!
The first thing you need to do is choose a wedding venue where you will celebrate the best day of your life.
HOW TO FIND THE PERFECT WEDDING VENUE
Before searching google for wedding venues in Perth ask yourself a few questions.
What are the places special to us as a couple?
Are you beach people? Bush people? Classy or Happy Campers?
How many people do we
need want to accommodate for?
Is BYO a better option? I say heck yes! And Cocktail over sit down any day!
Is it easier to have both the ceremony and reception at the same venue? (Insert yes here)
What time of year will it be? Ie. don’t pick Barrett Lane after winter when it’s been all cutback and there are no flowers or trees blooming. Outdoors weddings under the stars are the best!
Will this venue still be cool our favourite pick in over a years time?
How will it look in photos? If all indoors, is this best for natural light? (Insert NO here)
What kinds of photos are you after? If you are adventure seekers you are my kinda couple!
What will the weather do on the day? Have a backup clear marquee on standby if unsure.
Will down south be hard to get to or will it be more secluded and personal?
Next, have a look at a few of my favourite wedding ceremony and reception venues and see if any of these match your vision.
I got married here myself so can give you all the ins and outs of their ‘3 day hire’ DIY/BYO package
Barrett Lane have since made you use their caterer which I am less likely to promote but push to have food trucks!
Or, why not be awesome and just hire an epic house somewhere, get a band and mass fairy lights and have an epic dance party. With sparklers. And food trucks.
